Hi Steve,

I will be chasing jigs for both demersal and super deep jigging as well as poppers/stickbaits for GTs etc. I'm mainly hunting for jigs though...

Cheers,

My arms hurt even thinking about it. I draw the limit at 600 grams and even that gets painful.  I guess there are some folks out there who still find fishing fun with 1000 gram jigs !

Jigtalk make a 2kg jig!!!!   Ah gu, send me a pm with what you have for sale.

Mark, some of the spots we are fishing are 450+m deep and the currents can be really strong. Need the weight to get down lol

Fin nor Santiago sa30w and 50w. I know it's not high speed but it's easier with the 2 speed. It's a bottom bouncing setup that I only use for the super deep stuff. Chasing blue eye trevala etc.... And realistically it's very easy to jig for them by just using long lifts, pump and wind style but alot slower. You may say crazy, I say different  ;D

I usually give up after 3 minutes  :D. Plus we have 3 baitos on the boat who fish the same time. I couldn't do it for much longer. It's a long way up after all...

For such depth, wouldn't you be better off with an electric reel?
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Hey Ryan,

were regularly jigging down to 450m for cod, bass grouper and the elusive trevala in Perth, I have access to a jigging reel with 710m of PE5 on it as well.

Let me know if you need a decky down Albany way sometime ;)

My skipper won't let me Brandon. Apparentley your not s real fisherman if you use electrics. I'm tempted to take the flack and just buy one...

To be honest Luke I could not imagine anyone even using a 2kg jig. It seems a tad crazy that you would need so much weight. I saw one today in Perth and had to laugh though. The sambas would shit themselves when they saw it coming towards them!!

I just got back from singapore and lurehaven had quality gear and the excahange rate from au to sg was quite good. You can also impress the missus by going and buying a bottle of wine from the parkview plaza just around the corner not to cheap about 150sg and upwards but worth it. Just worth the look looks like something out of gotham city.
Have good honeymoon
