Synit Kaha Range 2012
February 06, 2012, 12:49:56 PM
The Kaha is the new jigging range for Synit in 2012, the range includes some new weight classes and some technology changes to continually improve the actions of their rods. Some 18 months ago Synit trialed a new lightweight double bias carbon produced in Europe, it offered the same strength as the heavy double bias material currently used in their DeepShot range but was 1/3rd lighted. This new lightweight matrial in infused with Nano helical partical resins giving superior bond stength when cured and offering a high power to weight ratio.

The new baby of the Synit jigging rod range is the Kaha 050g a supler light weight rod capable of jigging weights down to 50grams on PE2 braided lines and has a maximum rating of PE3 line. The Kaha 050g has a maximum jigging weight of 210g which allows this little rod to cover all the light jigging range. The rod is offered in both a 5ft 6in 1pc and a 5ft 6in 2pc both have a true maximum drag setting of 9kg @ 45 degrees and a best fighting drag of 3-7kg enough to stop any hard running inshore species.

Many rod companies have shyed away from building such light weight jigging rods in the past due to the high numbers of breakages but with the advent of new carbon and resin technology the game has changed allowing skilled anglers to venture into sub 100g rods to jig for larger fish.

The main diffrences between the current DeepShot and the new Kaha range is in the action and materials used. The Kaha uses a lightweight micro fused double bias carbon with nano resins and the DeepShot uses conventional double bias weight carbon cloth with toughened resins. The outer wrap of the Kaha range on rods 250g and over has changed from a 45 degree 3K carbon to a 45 degree telexium alloy wrap giving a Raptor reptile skin effect while offering extra mid range lift for big fish.

The range will include:

Kaha 050g -5.6", Max drag 9kg, fighting drag 3-7kg, Max jig 210g, Best jig
 50-180g. Max PE3 line.

Kaha 100g - 5.6" Max drag 10kg, fighting drag 4-8kg, Max jig 250g, best jig

Kaha 250g - 5.3", Max drag 14kg, fighting drag 5-12kg, Max Jig 400g, best jig

I'll attest to the power these rods have for such light sticks.
Used a proto 200 Spin for a few months now and it's an awesome little rod.
Can't wait to try out the 50g!

One day Synit might actually help their customers by updating their website!

The Kahas definitely seem on the light side.... did a quick comparison and similar weight to the equivalent spec MC Works SB rods.

Have been extensively testing Synit and fishing with my Kaha Seriola and have been pleasantly surprised. Especially in the heavier models and how easy on the angler they are after a days jigging. A pleasant to fish with!

Attached is a load shot of my Synit Kaha Seriola on a far north NZ King.

Cheers,
Sam

That was a good trip Sam  ;)

Hi Christoffer,

Heres a  pic of the  Kaha Seriola  loaded up. I will get back to you on the exact weight of the rod.
Both myself and Sam are using a Diawa Saltiga Z40 (carbontex drag upgrade) and running PE 6 , alternatively you could run a Shimano Ocea Jigger 4000p or a Accurate BX500N
