I use it only rarely Chris as it is not often I find bite leaders necessary when GT fishing.  But I keep some in my bag in case it does become necessary.

Do you secure either? end or rely on the tight fit to keep it in place?

Something like this Chris. The knot keeps the kevlar in place. You could of course knot it to a swivel and not directly to the lure.

I've had spano's swipe assist hooks off without even taking weight on the line.
