Assist hook on popper more effective than I thought

<< < (2/2)

Brandon Khoo:
I think only the ones from the Kaiser Pro Shop have upgraded swivels.

Mark Harris:
My understanding is the same as Brandon's. Kaiser advertise the fact that they use upgraded swivels on their branded Heru lures. See for example: http://www.kaiserproshop.com.sg/product-detailed.asp?id=150

All that being said, I use Heru lures a lot, mostly original Heru colours, and have never had a belly swivel go (although I have heard of 3 occasions now including Patrick's, where this has happened).

Nathan Tsao:
On two occasions i have had the belly swivel snap on two different Cubera150's. Both were from the shoreline, and both were from what seemed like small fish under 40lbs. I think i got a bad batch on that order?

Patrick Naslund:
Brandon..Mark

Tnx for the info

At least I know now that I can still fish with the Cubera's if the belly swivel ever break again on another trip  :)

Or indeed are Sasame and NT swivels the same thing with different branding? They look very similar.

Good to hear you caught some fish Patrick and that the assist off the front rigging worked for you.

Hi Mark. I also thought this in terms of the NT and Sasame being the same because there power ratings for their given sizes are identical. Just an observation. Could the breaking of the belly swivel be corrosion related or even due to side loads?
