Whilst I understand that the Stella 18000 is a designed for higher speed activities, my question is, can this reel still be used as a jigging reel? Or do I need to source another reel?

You can use it Ben but it just makes jigging harder than it already is. I used to jig with a 10000SW.

agree, its not much fun, tried the 10000sw also to see if there was much difference. when it gets deep its even worse! a short burst of jigging in the shallows is ok tho.

Mark Harris:
In an "emergency" I once jigged with a Dogfight with 500 grams on the other end in a strong current. Absolutely murderous!
