Spare spool recommendations

(1/4) > >>

Guy Durham:
Guys, I'm looking for a spare spool for my Stella 20k SW. I see there are a few options out there. Can someone please steer me in the right direction.

Pros & cons of the different available options based on personal experience would be awesome.

Cheers

Mark Harris:
Unlike with spare spools for 10000 size reels, none of the options for a 20000 give any increased capacity to the factory original as far as I know?

Therefore, I would probably buy a spare Stella SW 20000 spool, simple as that.

I bought spare Stella SW 20000 spool for my SW 18000.

Allan Chan Hian Lian:
JM had just developed a new spool for Stella 18000 & 20000 called JM monster 25000, no review yet as it's just released. Visit in their website for a look.
Cheers.

Mark Harris:
Excellent Amr. Being a Shimano product, the extra line capacity is no doubt correct and that is a benefit that perhaps justifies the extra cost.

I would be sceptical about the increased drag claims for Yumeya over standard Shimano spools though. For example, the Yumeya 12000 spool drag seems completely the same to me as the Twinpower 12000.

Guy Durham:
Mark, I think you misread... He said decreased drag over standard spool. Which I am to some degree equally as surprised about. Decreasing the drag on a flagship reel 8)
