Topwater Caranx Ignobilis: Giant Trevally (GT) > Tackle & Techniques
SJ41 Vs SJ43
Ben Rivers:
Everyone seems to recommend the SJ41 for Poppers (Back to back), I though the SJ43 looked like they might be more suitable.
Dmitrii Novgorodtcev:
Originally, SJ43 was designed by Kei Hiramatsu for Owner for jigging purpose.
Mark Harris:
I am probably not the best person to be commenting on singles for GT lures as I don't like using them, but SJ41 as a Baker Rig hook looks strange to me (because of the very short shanks).
Nomad have been a key driving force behind fitting singles on poppers and if their videos are anything to go by they prefer Jobus (very long shanked), which is a similar shape to SJ43.
Ben Rivers:
Thanks Mark - I'll buy a couple of packs and see how they go!
Brandon Khoo:
They use Jobus as single rigged assists, not as baker rigs.
My only reservation is that a 10/0 Jobu on a long assist rig really does strange things to the balance of the lure.
