Hi Doug,
I fish with this rod.
Use it for stick baits though, no popping

Had it for a year now, I dont mind it at all
Great for those monster casts

HI Doug,

I've built 4 of these rods both the 80N and 86N, its a great all around rod. I like it for stickbaits and poppers up to 180g, its sweet spot is about 150g-160g. Comfortable to fish with PE8 line, PE10 would be a bit redundant on these blanks. Biggest GT i've pulled up on it was about 80lbs, but it was bogged down a bit on that fish. They'll whip mid sized GT real quick, but its no elephant gun. Good blanks for sure.

Nice work Nathan!  Beautiful work on those rods.

The little GT image reminds me of something....... I think the one on the Carpenter Seafrog 135 PP Evolution '04.  Beautifully done.

Hi Nathan

Any idea what the rod weighs after built? I believe the 80N blank is around 250gm, just wanna know the final weight after butt section, guides and everything else have been included. Cheers!

You say it not very light for an 8ft 6" rod?
So what is the lightest 8ft 6" PE 8 rod out there for under $500?

Well...... price aside, with this Nano thingy, I was hoping it can be lighter than that.   ;)

I might just get the 80N model instead!

Steve did you end up buying the rod and if so how does it rate. I am thinking off another backup rod for a planned trip to Vanuatu in November. I already own a couple of the Black Hole Cape Cod Special jigging rods which are nice rods, albeit way to stiff for jigging Sydney Kingies in my opinion. Interested in your opinion.
