LAKSHADWEEP end of march 2012
April 23, 2012, 11:13:44 PM
Hi all,
I just returned from a trip to Lakshadweep where I have take some nice GT, not as big as during my trip to Oman in March 2011 in Ash Shuwaymiyah  ;), but most importantly for me is to take GT  :), I fish only surface lures and see the attack of a fish on the lure  is the beginning of my pleasure, even if the fish weighed 10., 30 or 50k.
I was based on the island of Kadmat where I could fish on other islands as Bitra Bank.
I was able to develop this trip with the boss Yves Fraissex who lives when he is in France at 15km from my home.
Approximately 100 GT have had the chance Ah! Ah! to come to the boat to leave in good condition except two, a few red carp but not other fish like doggies.
We were three on the boat but a friend of mine has not fished much and only took 7 or 8 fish, he suffered from very hot weather whithout wind.
We did about 50h00 of boat  only to go fishing spots, sometimes at night to watch the stars.  :D
The young man I am  ;) (70 years and some months) has once again taken a lot of fun during this trip even if the logistics were a bit difficult.  ;)
Surface fishing is definitely my favorite fishing by far.

equipment used:
Carpenter CV 79/40 and Fisherman TRSH my two favorite rods
6000GT Saltiga and Stella 10000 older generation.
Best lures:

Heru Cubera, Halco Roosta, Dumbell Pop, Surface Bull yes I said Surface Bull, an old lure but still effective even without paint and above Orion Flapper and BIG NOSE, much of the GT with the Big Nose.

Braids: Varivas SMP PE8, I fish with SMP since 2008 and I really like.

Treble: Decoy 8/0 and GT Recorder 7/0 on tail of the lures and barbless.
Sometimes I put a hook (assist in french) at the head of the lure of Heru Cubera for exemple.

Here in a few lines in English Ah! Ah!   :) and I can say about this trip that I enjoyed.

Here are some pictures, sometimes not very nice  :( and some where on my head is tired of a fisherman, I wonder why  :)

Excellent as usual Gege!  Well done.

I love the photo of an empty information centre. Very ironic :).

Thanks Nathan and Mark,
The "information centre" was a brainstorming room  :)  :)

Just a quick comment from this photo, this is the first time I wore a GT that way at the request of the skipper, is a very big mistake  :-[, the GT did not like him at all and I am sorry  :-[ , I will never again never

Great photos and report Sacco, I love your enthusiasm!  I hope to be as keen and fit as you are when I am that age  :D

That last fish is massive!  Very well done in what looks like hot conditions   :P  When it is hot up here it is like doing a weights workout in a sauna  :o
Focus on the pop

fishing is my passion since my childhood and unfortunately  :-[ I can't make a exotic trip only once a year but every time I look like an electric battery so I'm excited  :)  :)

Hi Sacco

I have nothing but admiration for you! I just hope to be half as fit as you when I'm your age and can still manage a GT or two!

Care to share the contact for the boat / charter there? Where did you fly into Lakshadweep from (Mumbai or Chennai???). It will be great if you can advise on the accommodation options. Use PM if that's more convenient. Cheers!

Steve
