harness/lanyard mount (spin)
May 23, 2012, 04:05:53 PM
Hi guys.
I have recently splashed out and got a stella 18000, a popping rod and a jigging rod. Having been on a few game boats i have noticed that there heavy tackle gear have lanyards attched to the rod which is then attatched to the boat so if the angler lets go of the rod it can be retrieved. I was wondering if there is a way of attatching one of these to my popping and jigging rods so they wont dissapear if they go over the side?
Thanks

I made one out of some 4mm white cord with a small dog clip on one end. Run the cord over the neck of the reel and clip it off. Would be the same as on the charter boats except I tape mine halfway down the rodd butt to avoid the line getting in the way.

Only problem is that you can't grab the rod and move it out of the way quickly...
