Choice between Ripple 5210 and 5610
June 01, 2012, 07:20:45 PM
Hi all,

I'm trying to decide between these two rods. I'm upgrading from an AMJ52EX because although I love fighting fish with it and its very easy on the angler I find the grip length a bit too short and I feel I lose some control when the fish goes round the boat due to the rod bending so far down the blank.

I don't really use jigs over 300g and normally fish between 50-100m for doggies and geets.

Does anyone have any experience of these two Ripples? I like the idea of the extra length in the 5'6 model but I'm worried it will be too brutal on the angler. I had a go with a Sevenseas Dogtooth Mania and this was not nice to fight fish with.

Also, if you have used or owned the 5'6 model how did you find it for under the arm fast pitch jigging, was it OK or did the length cause you grief? Guessing it will be fine for long stroke out of the belt styles..

Any feedback would be really welcome especially if you own either of these two.

Cheers!
