Topwater Caranx Ignobilis: Giant Trevally (GT) > Tackle & Techniques
Your favorite topwater GT lures?
Mark Harris:
Impossible to choose one (naturally) :)
It changes sometimes but my faves at the moment are:
Chugger: Carpenter Seafrog 170 and Craftbait GT3 150 (should be 3 really with Heru Cubera 150 the other)
Floating stickbait: Carpenter Gamma 160 and Adhek Penipen 140
Sinking stickbait: Orion Bigfoot 140 and up (way up), and Heru Bobara 100XX (should be 3 really with ASWB SS 225 grams - an absolute monster of a lure).
Pencil: Carpenter Kattobi 150 and Adhek Ocean Lady 160
Luke Wyrsta:
That's true! It needs to be categorised into topwater types...
Pencil: Long Pen 100 - light, long casting and easy to use. Such a simple design that smokes a lot of big GT when gar and flying fish are about.
Popper:
Shallow/All-Round: Hammerhead E-Cup / Craft-Bait GT3 150g
Deep: Full Scale Kong 200 / I-Cup 200g
Topwater Stickbait:
Gamma 160g - 300g
Big Nambas 230g
Callan Wallace:
The one that is catching fish. ;D
Darren Douche:
Ulua 150 stickbaits. Cheapish, good finish, last agers, swim good and catch big fish
Darren Cook:
Sea Frog 135gm blue top, silver pink below.
I need a new one though.
