Diff between a GT rod and Tuna rod

(1/1)

Daniel Rybak:
Ok

I'm just doing some searching around and reading up on some great gear around. Getting my head around the offerings from some of the manufacturers.

My question is as the subject states.

I want to know the difference between a Tuna casting rod and a GT casting rod. I've noticed some rods are dedicated Tuna rods.

Would it be in the action? A tuna rod having more of a parabolic action to put less hurt on an angler on a straight up n down fight. Whereas a GT rod has a faster action to stop GTs going into their reefy lairs.

If I was to throw stickbaits at bluefin, would a GT specific rod be out of the question

Cheers

Andrew Susani:
Lure weight considerations would come into it too - GT lures tend to generally weigh a fair bit more.
