In answer to questions about that rod - catalog says line weight is PE8 and jig is 500g+.  Vague!  The Wei World 48XXH is also known as the "Taiwan Special" re-Andrew's post about jigging in Taiwan.

i have used that rod in the 3 kings islands last april. the only thing i can say is dont judge a book by its cover! i lov ethat little rod. i am planning a trip to brazil in may for some huge aj's 50 kilo fish are common and the biggest so far has been 60.5 kilos. anyone intrested let me know.

A MASSIVE AJ...these things have toyed with me up off Break Sea Spit.
The angler looks like he has a bad case of piles from yanking that thing outta the depths....top effort on ANY gear!!!!
The Barwon's do hold fish up to 45-50kg at times....I dunno about mega sized gronkers like that mutant though!!
