South Saudi Arabia??
October 15, 2012, 11:06:25 PM
Hi All,

Starting in January I will be living and working in Southern Saudi for a couple of years, Jeddah to be precise, I've seen a few (very odd) YouTube clips of guys catching Trevally from the shore (the Jeddah Corniche) but was wondering if anyone on the forum had any first hand experience of fishing in this area for the sort of fish we like to catch?

Cheers,

Steven

Hi Steven,

I live in Rabigh 130 KM from Jeddah. The fishing here mostly is dominated by line fishing and using bait. In my area, only me and few of my friends doing popping/casting and shore jigging. So far I've seen GT up to 35 GT (sadly in fish market) and my personal biggest record for GT was only 25 GT by night popping landbased. There is Facebook group for anglers in Jeddah, PM me your FB and I will ask my friend to add you to the group. Give me a shout once you are in Jeddah and we may plan for fishing trip in Rabigh if you are interested.

Regards.
