For us greenhorns, how many rods eg. 7' 50lb / 7'6" 80lb. lures 2 x so'n'so poppers etc.
Is that a bit to much? In other words what you should take.
It's all horses for courses mate, sometimes you may feel you take way too much but sometimes it can really come in handy. An example is when only the small fish are striking - no point using a PE8 outfit when a PE5/6 outift can handle them with ease and a lot less effort!
However, this is what i generally take:
- 1 x 7-8' PE5/6 outfit with a high speed reel (Stella) - all rounder but responsive in the tip for stickbaits & pencil work
- 1 x 7' PE8 outfit for all round general purpose (Stella)
- 1 x 7' PE10-12 outfit for big bloopers and pencils - this is my gun outfit that i only use in big fish territory
I can't tell you specifically in regards to lures because everyone is different, however, here are a few that i don't leave without, as for numbers, i take as many as practically possible:
- Carpenter Gamma/Livebait Stickbait
- Carpenter Sea Frog
- Heru Wahoo 210-240mm
- Fisherman Big Mouth HP Tail
- Fisherman Krog
- Fisherman Long Pen
- Various Billy/Plat stickbaits & pencils
- Various cheaper models such as River2Sea Dumbells, Bill's Bug, Surface Cruisers etc... usually in largest sizes
