Carpenter ICBM EP models
November 26, 2012, 07:20:26 PM
Hey guys,
Was wondering why the different butt section on the EP90/37 ICBM increases the drag rating and cast weight slightly, compared to the EP88/36?
Also is the EP 86/40 more suited to poppers or stickbaits? For example will it work a 170g popper comfortably? Would the 810/41 make much difference, it being a custom only will be considerably more expensive?
Thanks,
Chris

Chris, the same situation exists with the WV80 and WV83XH.
I've never asked Kenji San that question. I have always simply assumed that they utilise the same blank but I'm not 100% sure on that at all. The difference is marginal anyway.

On your questions re the EP86 and EP810, I was not involved in the testing of these rods. I however, am pretty sure that the answer to your question is that it is not ideal for 170g poppers.
