Large plastics & GT

<< < (2/2)

Brandon Khoo:
I have guys, but only a bit. I had a huge bozo worm out at Shoalwater for a short time. It got munched but I didn't hook up.

Aerospace:
I have used some smaller plastics a few times with huge success, jigging and casting Berkley Gulp 4" pogys with a 3/4 or 1 oz jig head was killer in the seychelles and on the barrier reef, i found that they were catching fish when guys with other plastics were not, i think its because of the very strong scent they have. They are not very pleasant smelling, and believe me the smell lingered, but the results spoke for themselves!!

Andy Rowe:
Has anyone tried the largest Pakula Dojo Peche, it's big and heavy enough for casting about 30 cm long, it even has a slightly cupped face, with an evil single barbed hook on the back. Though I don't know how the hook would stand up to a larger GT (30kg+).

I wanted to get some last time I was in Sydney, but missed out. Aerodynamics may be an issue with casting as I'm sure it would flop about abit. Next time I can buy some I will surely try it for casting as it looks great.

Has anyone tried these??

Mick Cunningham:
i was planning to take a Pakula Dojo Peche to shoalwater trip .. but i was told it might be too light to cast a long way .. so i didn,t buy one .. you should give it a shot and tell us about it  ::) ::)

Andy Rowe:
I can't seem to find spec. regarding weights of the Dojo Peche Destroyer 305 mm on the net, but I did make a special order to get the lure as I'd examined a sample, it just did not arrive in time before before my flight left so I'm sure it was in the casting weight zone for my 6-8 PE gear, I'm having a senior moment :-\.

As soon as I can get one to play with I will report...
