Pe5 outfit

Ian Cook:
G'day Travis,

Have a look at the Temple Reef STK 76H PE4-6 casts 60-120gm & weighs only 285gms for $500 AUD.

Elite Tackle has these and when I was up on the Gold Coast last week I had a feel of one, really nice stick and very well built.

I am actually considering the slightly heavier STK 78HH myself.

Cheers,

Ian

I was going to suggest the temple reef....i got a bd 100 for working stickbaits up to 130 gms....it works a treat...it is longer at 8'8 but i use it from the shore where the length is necessary.

Kyle Stacey:
On a recent trip to the montebello islands I used a Wilson venom pe5 popper rod and I was very impressed with it, I used it with a 8000 twin power and pe5 jerry brown.
While the rod did struggle with poppers over 100g when it came to blooping them but it cast like a rocket and was well suited to stick baits up to 120g.
When it came to fighting the fish it was excellent with a pronounced parabolic action and I knocked over a number of mackerel to 20kgs and Gt's to 15kgs in some pretty tight water.
I think they are around that $500 mark and Australian made the only thing I didn't like was the join being about 6in above the foregrip.

Carpenter BC75MHS if you prefer shorter rod ( rated PE 4-5 ) or Carpenter HL TN87 if you prefer longer rod ( rated PE 5-6 ) . Both rods are very popular among GT n Tuna fishermen casting sub 100 gr.lures .

G'Day Travis

I have the Daiwa Casting Bluebacker 77S-F with the Saltiga-Z 4500H and use it in Sydney Harbour chasing Yellowtail Kingfish. I use 80g pencil poppers and the combo has knocked over kings to 85cm with ease. Its a really nice combo.

Cheers Rob
