I don't believe the 30K was built for this application, not with a 44lb at max drag,
Shimano did not advertise the reel for giant Bluefin tuna, i think they tried but i am sure the reel is suitable for the 400lb to 500lb fish but not for those 700lb and above, I WON'T BE SURPRISED TO SEE AN UPGRADE VERSION IN THE FUTURE

Thanks Sami, I held one the other day for the first time and was amazed by the size of the reel.  My comment was a bit uneducated, the reel just looked like it would handle most things. Going off topic though and I don't want to detract from these amazing fish and report. I am moving to north America soon and have this location on my wish list.

You are going to love the fishing in this part of the world, North Carolina in the winter, Cape Cop in early spring and summer and PEI in the fall, you can't ask for better then that ( Bluefin Tuna heaven  ), don't hesitate to call us if you need any help to fish for Bluefin Tuna, will be more than happy to help out.
