Awesome work Victor!

Those FCL rods are incredible. The 81EXT MH is now a mainstay in my cache of rods too.

Great fish  8) 8) 8)

Really well done Victor, Chris and Richard.

Perseverance paid off and it sounds like your Day 4 is one that will be remembered forever.

Really enjoyed meeting you guys and that little tackle session we had before your first day started and I left.

Well done guys.

Champagne fishing and well deserved.

Show all those young blokes how it's supposed to be done.

Thanks Luke, Mark and Trevor for your comments and kind words.  Yes absolutely a trip we won't forget.

Mark we too enjoyed chatting with you on our first night.  Thanks for your words of advice and encouragement.  The tip you gave us on using a single hook attached by Kevlar to the towing point proved to be an excellent one.  Ed confirmed this after I missed the first few fish and we changed the treble up front to a single on Kevlar.  I think all but Ed's fish were caught on the single hook up front.  I certainly found it easier to set the hook with that single.

Was a pleasure chatting with you Victor and I am happy to hear that the single on assist worked for you.  Took a while to get my head around that method of rigging but I use it more and more now on lures that will take it.

Great work Victor!
I'm sure you needed a good lie down after those two giants!
Glad the FCL's worked for you - they are an awesome pair of rods and a great popper

Cheers

Awesome double to add to your monster from an earlier trip Vic, very few people can lay claim to 3 fish of that size, a hell of an achievement.

Save some for us on the next trip.............

Nice one Chris, we have two ladies in our trip to the Andamans next year they have put in a request for a few 15kg fish!! The big boys of 50Kg look /sound like they may be beyond them - maybe me too for that matter!! But once hooked into big fish you seem to get that surge of strenth and determiantion not to give up - probably!!

Great read Vic and many thanks for taking the time to share. Always a pleasure welcoming repeat guests and especially one who seems to have the GT gods on his side! It was like watching a video game as i observed the life/energy bar going down fast with that 2nd fish .. secret cheat though is some cold water down the neck and lots of encouragement.

I have never seen such looks of pure terror every time i mentioned 'you are in the zone' to the boys after all had landed a monster, pretty sure they were doing all they could not to hook anymore fish before they called it  ;D

Really look forward to welcoming you at No Boundaries again bro and seeing the next stage of Vic Matanov GT machine mk3.

Thanks for spending the time to write up that report Victor.
When pretty much every species you hook up  - not just the Geets - but the Golden Trevs, Bludger, Queens, Permit  - and let's not forget the Wahoo ( :P) - is a personal best, you know you are fishing somewhere very special. And there can't be many places where you will see dorado hitting baitballs in 10 feet of water.
Nice to meet you Mark, thanks for the tips and encouragement on the first night - and thanks to the kind words of others above.
Chris and Victor - great company as always, and many thanks of course to Ed for the excellent hospitality and guidance.
Looking forward to nailing a few more Geets closer to home in the Musandam next month.... insh'allah!
