Hi Norbert,

I use CTS blanks, just email CTS with the model number to get the factory specs.. I believe you are referring to the 25-40kg blank which has a suggested cast wait of 250gm. It is a powerful rod, a little for firm for most applications...I really like the 150 and the 200 - PE6-PE8. All of their blanks have a parabolic action - including the jigging blanks, some fast taper also. Very strong and relatively light in weight.

The 150 will cast 120-180 nicely, the 200 has a bit more boogie so will cast 180-220/230 really well..I also have the 100 which is a great light option with plenty of power

Yes, I was referring to the 25-24kb blank. Do you think that it is more suited for stickbaits or poppers? I am concerned about the parabolic action. Will it be nice to fish with 200g big cup poppers?

It will pop 200's without any problems..I actually use the 200 for that though..

When I say it is parabolic I guess I am describing the overall feel..it is not top loaded like some, depends what you like. I feel its too heavy in action for stick baits in the 150-200 region which is why I prefer the 150 or 200, the 150 is great with stick baits to 170 or so..I then use the 200 for anything that saturates the 150, depends on the popper/stick bait etc.

To be fair I don't think the numbers are that helpful when trying to decide what is best..

I have tried a few different rods/blanks but I found that this one really suited the way I fish - In addition I do support locally made (NZ)

I use 8' blanks on all of the popping rods except for the 100 which is 7' 6"

lots of options out there though, especially in the price range of the CTS blanks - are you building it yourself?
