Advice on split ring pliers

<< < (5/6) > >>

Mark Harris:
In a shop yes. Good choice for lighter pliers but could not use for GT sized split rings. Extremely well built. The tungsten cutter on the GP45 is very nice.

Ben Rivers:
GP60

Just brought a new pair from PLAT online for about $45 bucks.

Brandon Khoo:
So a GP60 sized GP45 would be really good?

Mark Harris:
Brandon, the basic design of the GP45 is nice as it is still just two single pieces of hard steel (as is the GP60) rather than riveted tips and the  tungsten cutter is a really good extra.

But I prefer the notched claw tip of the GP60 for opening splits. The GP45 has no notch.

Hwee Guang Phang:
GP60s are great, I love the notch on the claw as the split rings are seated very nicely on them.

And yes, give them a good spray once you get them. I made the mistake of not spraying before my first trip with them and they rusted.
