Stella 2008 vs 2013
August 01, 2013, 08:52:58 PM
well honestly im just  disappointed that the new stella does not live up to expectations!

However Im sufffering from a case of info overload...

I cant decide on whether to get the 2008 model or 2013 model

Im looking at using the reel for popping and stickbaiting.

For me its either a

Stella 2008  10 000 XG with a Studio Ocean Mark 16000 Spool

              or

Stella 2013 14000 XG

gonna load PE 6.

What would you  guys advice me to get?

for me cost is not an issue.

However Im leaning towards the 2008 stella. as the massive free play in the 2013 as well as its staggering weight is putting me off. But i do like the further casting distance and smoother drag of the 2013.

advice??
thks!

oh and do check out the stella 2008 and 2013 reviews on alan hawks website!

alanhawk.com ! super indepth reviews!

For an upcoming trip, I just got a 14000XG for the better drag and extra capacity.  I already have a SW8000 with an extra 10000 spool but wanted the dual drag.  I too have a 18000SW for the heavier action, but my arms will cry after and hour or more of plugging with the larger outfit.
