Fishing report New Caledonia

(1/2) > >>

John Fenton:
Over the last couple of weeks, me and my wee brother Matt had some nice catches fishing the south of New Caledonia. We caught several red bass, yellowfin tuna, coral trout, a long tom and some GT's. We fished inside and outside the lagoon. Techniques used were varied from popping, stick baiting and pencil popping. The most successful being the Orion big foot stick baits. The difficult part was the location of the fish seemed to be spread along the reef with not much results casting at the reef corners. All the fish captured were successfully released after a few quick photographs

Sam McKechnie:
Looks like some great fishing john. What part of the south are you fishing?

John Fenton:
Thanks Sam ;D We fished the coral reefs and bommies in front of Baie du Prony and along the Havannah channel. We also fished outside the barrier reef and seen a 4 meter great white shark cruising by.
