Topwater Caranx Ignobilis: Giant Trevally (GT) > Tackle & Techniques
rod 20 lbs for shimano vanquish 4000
David Noble:
Where about's in New Caledonia Ludovic?
I'd be going for a longer rod purely for distance, and hoping it's not windy.
Are you going for bonefish, brassy trevally or cruising GT's?
I'd suggest you look into SeaBass rods, many brands. I have Majorcraft and am very happy with it.
Would take it to New Cal in a flash.
Cheers Dave
Christoffer Hansen:
The fcl casts very well for a short rod, no problem when chasing reefies on the flats. Also very accurate in the tight stuff. Great all round rod and with the 2 different handles the most versatile rod in this class and not too expensive either.
Ludovic Goldschmidt:
do you think the fcl labo 63 is ok for drag 3 kgs???????? i think the zenaq 63/2 twhich is ok for 3 kgs of drag but fcl labo don't know.
Trevor Skinner:
They're a well designed, well made rod. 3kgs of drag wouldn't be a problem, with the usual caveats.
Regards,
Trevor
Ludovic Goldschmidt:
thanks for your advice,I will take fcl labo 63
