Hi all,

Have any one experienced this rod before?

Particularly the Akabara Special.

Can you share your thought on them please?

Cheers,
Bwanna

These rods are marketed by MC Works.  I've used one of the many models before, unsure exactly what though. Very good build quality & components. My rod I would rate as fast medium taper so was a little more fatiging to jig with since the virtual rod lenght is much longer than my regular 5' JM rods. Rod had a lot of lift due to its taper and felt noticeably heavier or less balanced than other comparative jig rods.  I am aware that different Medusa rods have different road tapers.

Rods are so subjective, you really need to play around with as many as you can to find what feels good to you.

The MC Works custom range of rods are beautiful - workmanship is just like Fisherman
