Hi, Mark,

What if you try to pull the line with 2 wood bar, wrap several turns on each bar, spaced about 30cm and pull the bar. Does it breaks easily too without any knot involved?

Had massive problems with Andrew Walkers MB PE10 last October - the FG knots snapping under hand pressure ... resorted to bimini and yucatan for him and a little better but snapped off on a fish ... think he has binned it and come to JB hollow now ...

I don't understand the concept of gaining 10 to 15 % distance without having a confidence in your line, Hollow line is the ticket for GT fishing.
the PE line normally fail to the impact and the velocity of the strikes especially when using high drag for certain structure and terrain, that rating of 100lb or 130lb on the PE line is way overrated.
I use PE Line for jigging but I would not use it for casting especially when targeting GT's unless i am using a PE3-PE5 rod.
seriously think about the money you guys wasted in the past 4 to 5 years..
wouldn't you guys think it is time to adjust  ;)

Hi Trev,

I actually thought about you  :)
my recommendation is based on the high drag setting for those harsh terrains that you're only option is the high drag to stop them from reefing you, however I feel the problem with PE line comes from the strike and with those who use high drag setting.
I would still use the PE line for Bluefin tuna as the drag is not set high most of the time and is less then 30 lb on strike increasing gradually during the fight, so that strike velocity is eliminated with a low drag setting.
I totally understand why it serve certain anglers and there is nothing wrong with it, my opinion is based on my experience and from what I've seen in the field and experience with other anglers.
the hollow is not for everybody and if all angler convert to it business owner and shop like us will be in trouble  ;)
do i need to follow what the Japanese do and how they fish? yes but i will adjust to what suits me the best..

Sami,

After seeing you and Matt use hollow so successfully it's been in the back of my mind to try it.

I might just take the plunge.
