Pe8 Rod Advise

(1/1)

Mahmoud Salem:
Good day

I know this has been discussed tens if not hundreds of time
I reviewed many topics, which definitly helped me make a list

I need a pe8 rod to be used mainly for poppers 125-150gms, plus stickbaits(including floating) 120-180 gm unrigged
I will be getting another rod for stickbaits to 120gms, and I have a Smith Tokara that I will use in the very rare case I want to use a stickbait bigger than 180gms

I need to make a top 3 list rods in this category, I do appreciate your help in putting this this list and putting them in preference order

My current list in no specific order (I'm open to any other suggestions):
Carpenter MH 80H
Carpenter DJ83MH
Carpenter CV79/40
Carpenter EP82/38
Ripple Fisher GT82LC
Ripple Fisher GT79R
Rippe Fisher Ultimo 82MH
Fcl 81ext mh

Thanks in advance

I have only got experience with a little lighter rods up to pe6, but same principle applies. It will be very hard, if not impossible, to find a rod that can work a 120g floating stickbait as well as a 150g cup faced popper nicely. Soft tip = floating stickbait, stiff tip = popper

You may still be able to work your 120g floating stickbait and a 150g popper with one rod, but one of the two will not work well.

Mahmoud ,

A rod that can handle 150 gr. chugger may be too stiff for 120 gr. stickbait , the reverse is more likely ; a rod that can handle 120 gr. chugger most likely can handle 150 gr. stickbait .
