Jigging for king mackerel report kuwait

Hello,

These are some pictures of my trips for jan-feb 2013
Every year from jan-feb the kings come close to the islands and every year we catch plenty of them either spearfishing of trolling in the shallows,But this year the kings decided to go for the deep waters so we tried jigging for them and it really worked

Rod used: saltiga, valley hill
Reels: stella 10000, saltiga
Location: kuwait

Looks interesting, are you using a short wire bite trace on your leader?   49 strand or single wire?

I'm using 60 cm wire connected to the leader via swivel , we had some without wire but the landing rate was low due to lost lures to kings

Cool, I'll have to give it a go with wire, I've always thought it would hamper the jig action too much.

Hey cameron
Ive been using the valley hill for almost a year now
I used it in kuwait for king fish and snappers and it rocks
I used it also in fujaira and southern oman
In southern oman i caught snappers, groupers , amberjack , big eye trevally and golder trevally
And i managed to bring them with ease i also got a bite from a big fish and it had the back bone to lift it with a high drag but i lost the fish in the last 20 m before i get the chance to see it
I highly recommend it
Ill be coming to dubai next week and for sure ill come to the shop and buy new rods


Alistair, the wire will affect it but its a thing that u have to do unless u want to loose lots of jigs
But the effect it not that much to be honest
