160g or 200g Gamma for Monster Hunter 80H
Alex Wong:
Hi I would like to gather some feedback on which weight gamma will fit the MH80H better? Or at least what are the pros and cons of each when paired with the rod and 130/170lbs fisherman leader.
Hope I get some better response this time as I did not have much feedback for 2 of my post previously. Thanks for the help! :'(
Alex Jordan:
Hi Alex - it will fish both quite comfortably ... 250's are more of a lob and you wont get the distance but upto 200's are fine!

I believe there is not much problem in the casting part, how about working the lure? which will have a better presentation?
Mark Harris:
Ideally you would not use either with MH80H.
However, of the two, the 200 is easiest with MH80H. I often use Gamma 200s with MH80H purely because I don't really carry a specialist stickbait rod for lures that big.

I used the Diablo Gamma 160 on my first trip to Niihau and was easy to throw all day and work consistently and produced one GT and numerous trevallys and I didn't want to go back to a popper so I went back to Pat V for another one and I recently bought the 200 gamma also but didn't use it yet.On the 160 Gamma set up I used 2 singles on the front and a Jobu single on the back.My Daiwa reel was set up with 130lb braid,180 shock + 250 leader
