Last week I had Tayfun Meric come and join me all the way from Turkey for a fish in the Musandam for a couple days , Tayfun had fished with us before and managed to get himself a MT Trevally (baby GT). He was back for round 2 in search of the big one. The first day we went out nice and early and went to one of the spots up at the top from the first drift Tayfun was in the action hooking into a 1,5m bull shark fish on weight to measurement table put the fish at 60kg fish was caught on a fisherman 10-110 stickbait, Tayfun was stoked with the catch but still after the GT. The next drift a good fish came up on the stick bait and tight after a good tussle Tayfun had the fish at the boat for myself to land fish was 32kg, a quick few photos and the fish was released and a happy man! Next drift 4th cast bang tight again with a 27kg GT, a few pics and fish released. We did a few more drifts had a follow or 2 but no hook ups so we decided to put the long fisherman popper and first drift with the popper and bang tight with another good fish, Tayfun putting the gears on the fish and got it to the boat in no time landing a good 22kg GT.
Day 2
Fishing was a bit tough due to windy conditions but Tayfun got a nice GT of 28kg on the fisherman popper again and hooked up into either a marlin or a big sail on jig after a 1h 45min fight the hook pulled 10m under the boat was very unlucky.
Tayfun had a great trip and very happy with his new Fisherman lures working from our shop.
Its great that the fish are pulling in big time in the Musandam and such good healthy size fish and such good numbers.
