Jigging Master spools & handles

I'm just starting out with jigging and popping myself and am currently trying to get my set up together and in the process of purchasing rods, reels etc.

I see many people using Jigging Master conversions on their reels, be it spools or handles or both. What's the point in doing so... or better, what's the benefit of "pimping" your reel with the JM products? Other than looking pretty sweet  ;)

Some spools give you more line capacity than the normal reel spool does.

The shape of knobs (spool handles) is an ergonomic aspect. Different people prefer different shapes (round, egg, bar).

Otherwise it's all eye candy.

Stick with the stock spools and handles.

You can change out the knobs but try the stock one first, you may find it comfortable.

Was just wandering what it was all about as you see the JM gear quite regularly...

It all has a time and a place.

As mentioned above, the spools can give an extra line or drag capacity advantage.

Likewise, the longer handles give extra cranking power. Not so much a problem for all of us but it does make a difference. The wife certainly appreciates the extra leverage on her reel.
