SOM 2010 Saltiga Spool 10ST7500
April 16, 2015, 08:52:23 AM
G'day all,

Has anyone used or heard anything about these Studio Ocean Mark spools for the 2010 Saltiga?

More importantly, is the spool too large and cause the rotor to flex and make contact with the spool with high drag pressures?

I haven't been able to find out any info on this spool anywhere and am interested in it for it's capacity seeing as I can only get just under 250 of pe10 on the standard 6500 spool which scares me a little. One bust off and I'm up for a re-spool.

Cheers,
Rich

Hi Mark,

Another option is to go for the Daiwa RCS 7000 spool as a straight swap over on the 2010 Saltiga 6500 and it will give you more capacity as has a capacity of 350m PE8 and a good quality PE10 braid should get fairly close to the this amount anyway.

Just a thought and may work out a bit cheaper.

Cheers,

Ian

Thank you Ian,

Are RCS products available for purchase through Daiwa Australia direct? Or do I need to find a company that stocks their products?

Hi Mark,

Daiwa won't sell them direct........as I tried it the last time I was over at their head office here in Sydney to see them about one of my reels that needed repairing as they claim they can only sell spare or replacement parts and the RCS being an upgrade item does not fall into this category and needed to be ordered through a local tackle shop.

If you have a good relationship with your local tackle shop, you might be lucky enough to be able to negotiate with them a minimal sales margin as a one off.

Other than that you may need to look at some of the Japanese tackle sites or other online sites.

All the best anyway.

Cheers,

Ian
