Awesome report as always Sami San. I really need to make a trip over, think I'm the only one of the Japan crew over here that hasn't been. Was talking with Tosa San last week about making a trip together sometime!!

One question, I see you use single hooks most of the time. Is that a rule over in your area or do you prefer them over trebles?

Hi Yoshikazu,

The landing ratio on the single hook is higher than the trebles specially when targeting the big boys,
it will be great if you and Tosa-san will make it to the USA to fish for Bluefin Tuna
as for your question concerning the rule, there is no rule on what to use in terms of trebles or singles but for North Carolina and because we practice catch and release I enforce the usage of single hooks on all our trips.
