wooden poppers/stickbaits splitting

(1/3) > >>

Brett Methven:
Hey guys,

I have managed to get 8 "sample" poppers and stick baits from a supplier in china.  All different shapes from dumbbells to suspending 200mm stick baits but on a recent test run found the wood on most had split to the point where they are pretty much useless.  Individually these are not the cheapest lures but come down dramatically in price when you buy bulk.

I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and if it happens to be the type of wood used or if they are not 100% sealed properly.  I know quality lures outperform every time but I cannot afford $40 - $60 a pop just yet as I am still waiting to win the lotto  ;D

Alternatively if anyone has gotten on to a good cheap brand that wouldn't mind sharing it would save me a lot of trial and error haha

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers guys!
