A little help needed in Maldives
September 28, 2015, 02:17:03 AM
I'm looking at a vacation for my family in the Maldives in December/January. We would be flying into Male. Can someone recommend an area within reasonable distance(not much extra travel costs) to stay. Obviously there are plenty of websites available for viewing resorts but I am looking for a bit of inside info. I will definitely be looking to get a line wet on multiple occasions. It will be my wife and 3 teenagers. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I was 1 time on Maldives, Paradise Atol hotel.
It is about 30 minutes by speed boat from Male.
This was good vacation, but the island is very small, apr. 500 m x 1500 m .
Nothing to do - 2 or 3 shop, few expensive restaurant and nice beach
The resort is very nice, every evening you have some program, but if you do not go fishing,
you'll be bored.
I was 4 day fishing, together with my friend and bacause of fishing the time was good.
Begening of November I go Maldives, 7 day fishing with big mother boat.

Hi Michael,

This place looks good. Are you boat sharing? How much in advance do you book?

Cheers,
Sam

Hi Sam,
have a look at their website. We booked one year in advance. Low season (Mai to Oct.) may be easier.
We booked a Dhoni for whole day fishing (i.e. 6.00a.m until 5.00p.m.), price 250USD, which is not expensive. Captain, Mate and food included.
