Valley hill rods

(1/2) > >>

David DeCourcy:
Hi everyone
Any know where valley hill rods are made. I keep coming across their rods in trip reports but no detailed information about the rods.
Looking in particular at the Exploder 55M which weighs 190 odd gms and rated at pe 3-4.
Thanks
David

Cameron Mundy:
It's a Japanese brand not to hard to track down, I think most of the big internet retailers stock them.

David DeCourcy:
7seasproshop in Thailand has it, wanted some information on the 55M. Found out the heavier model is called Mogi special but that one is way above my weight class. Rated up to 700 gms jig weight. I'd pass out on the boat after a few drops.

Cameron Mundy:
I've had a few drops with the Mogi Special its a first rate stump puller. The other model I've played with was called the shining wizard or something to that effect nice rod just makes you wonder what the Japs are indulging in when they name their gear.

David DeCourcy:
The 55M pe 3-4 is called The Shining Wizard. How did it feel, it's rated 150-200 gm jig weight and rod weight is 195 gms.  You think it's got the backbone to handle 20-25 kg gt/doggys
