Braids and the companies making them are cloaked in mystery, but really they are an incestuous bunch, all are buying the raw material, delivered to them as spools of white thread, from 2 or 3 manufacturers woldwide!!
Braid, spectra, dyneema it's all the same thing.
Without getting too long winded the reallity is simple, if it's thin it will break low and if it's thick it will break high. If the market demands thin braid, like the japanese, it will invariably break well under, the opposite view, like our yank friends, will see the stuff mostly break way over as diameter is not an issue with them.
True IGFA would be possible , but the weavers (line manufactuers) have no control over the real strength of the threads they braid with, so the line would have to be well under line class to have a hope of passing all the time.
In a nutshell IGFA braid is really a joke, if you want to claim records stick to mono for the time being.
