Twinpower 10000FC
September 28, 2008, 12:36:15 PM
Does anyone know anything about the new big Twinpower that is mentioned on the Shimano Australia website? This reel is also listed on the Mo Tackle site as "coming soon". If the Twinpower HG/PG series is anything to go by, this could prove very interesting. Especially if it comes with a spare spool and is priced at A$479...

If the trend in new Stella SW is anything to go by , this new Twinpower 10000 may be just about the size of Twinpower 8000HG with slightly larger spool .

After checking my old STL10000F , guess what ? The spool capacity of Stella 10000F in 20 lbs. is 220 yds. while this new TP10000FC's is advertised to be able to accomodate 250 yds , a coincidence or Shimano just use the old Stella F series spool on their latest Twinpower biggest reel ?

It would be nice if the 10K spools for these twini's were backwards compatible also, unfortunately that is not a trend though :(

Hi Andy ,

Not a chance , the business mind of Shimano won't allow us to just do that . By the way , Biak as pretty a place as it is , the GT's size were nothing to brag about .

Hi Jon,

It is a shame but I guess that is progress.

No big ones in Biak, well I'm sure you guys enjoyed being out there regardless. What was your biggest?

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy ,

The biggest GT was a mere 20 kg but had my fun with a 10+ kg narrow barred mackerel ( tenggiri ) which did everything , jump upon hooking up , run on the surface and dive under the boat repeatedly .
