Hi Chris -we had one angler on our boat who made a habit of casting irrespective of whether you were fighting a fish or not. He almost managed to get me burnt off when I was fighting a fish by casting right across me. if it wasn't for the deckie's very quick actions, that would have resulted in a burn off. I'll say no more

The rod is an TBL 84 RF20.
I have no fishing plans for the rest of the year. If I get to Perth, I will try to get out for a day or two after samsons if that is possible. I have no GT trips planned bwteen now and Shoalwater.

Doesn't look like an ideal weather for GT popping , the wind must have made it difficult to cast to certain direction . Good report , Brandon .

Brandon,
Nice work mate!
Some great fish amongst the 'light breeze'that FNQLD is famous for!
You are right about Konishi...his balance is freakish!
Great report as always....I'm drooling again.
Aaron.

Good to see you had a good trip mate, especially after all your pressure the week before of actualy getting there
, and if I remember rightly you mentioned in an old post that you wanted to catch a Flute Fish
how did you capture it ? DON'T SAY ON A POPPER!!

Looks like you had a great trip mate despite the rough conditions.
Wow that maori wrasse is pretty, did you catch it on a popper or a stickbait?
I am amazed that one trout can look so totally different to the next, do you think they have grotto wars in da hood?

The flutefish was caught on a small metal jig (believe it or not).
Chris, the way some of the trout were competing for the poppers made it seem like a gang way at times. I do remember now and you're going to kick me for it - the wrasse was caught on Kong in the dark colour that changes in the light. I was so excited about the fish I forgot completely about the popper

Flutefish are strange critters, I've caught them on fly before, they fight like a stick
That is sooo cool, another species on a Kong, The colour was "Midnight colour shift"
