Great report Brandon, it's always a pleasure reading about what you've been up to... and some nice pics too.

Great stuff Brandon. You probably have your own ass groove indented on the Nomad bunks now!

That is probably the biggest popper caught Nap Wrasse I've ever seen!!!!! Very jealous - gorgeous photo!

Wow! spectacular looking fish Brandon.
Sounds like an absolutely memorable trip.

Nice to see the SS popper getting results.....did that one survive the trip?

Great report and pics. i have to get there one day.
cheers Darren.

Did the SS popper survive the trip? Well, that's a matter of opinion
I suppose you can't ask much more from a popper - 16 GTs and 80% of the damage done by the last one

One big fish will do more damage to the lure than a dozen smaller ones. I had fifteen GTs up on the lure when Jason (one of the Nomad guides) got snaffled  by a very nice fish. It did more damage than the other fifteen combined!

Btw - SS poppers are tough. I've had the same happen with other poppers when the fish gets the lure solidly in its jaws.
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Brandon, I'd be interested to know which rods Konishi favors?

Sweet report Brandon. Really got a sense of the hectic magic session!! Nothing like it when you get a follow at least on every cast! That black trout looks hardcore. Well done.

Any chance Konishi or Mogi will write up a report of this trip as well?

Really enjoyed your report and pics Brandon - and very jealous that you live so near to such awesome fishing!!

I intend to take my wife to Australia in 2011 (birthday present) and luckily she is an avid fisher so not much doubt about what we will be doing when we get there!

In the meantime, we are off to the Seychelles early December to see what we can pop and jig there.

Look forward to reading about your next adventure.

I have no idea, Ewan but I doubt it. Mogi spends his whole life on trips and Konishi is pretty focussed on testing his lures. Neither of them are fishing jounos.
