Another Kiwi here, rock fishing is my modus operandi and am still looking to nail my first decent King on a stickbait from the stones. I am a regular contributor for NZ Fishing World magazine and do a bit of photography too. Great website, thanks to all those who have shared on the forums, learning lots.....

Hi Everybody,
My name is trent, and go by the name Treno on other forums. I am a mad keen lure and fly fisho and I have just moved to Gladstone Qld from Hervey bay Qld. I love my sight fishing on the flats and with the Capricorn Group so close to me now I'm as keen as to tangle with  some GT's on poppers. I managed my first trip about 4 weeks ago to the Capricorn Group and was seriously undergunned.....So  from the info I got from this great site so far I need a Stella 10,000 and a GT popping rod.
Keep up the great work guys

cheers Treno

Hi Crew!
Just joined up so thought I'd say hi. ;D

Ive been lucky enough to be a professional fishing guide throughout the remote Northern Territory, Whitsundays and North America. Ive lived and breathed fishing for over 20 years now and I live now on the Gold Coast, Australia where I target everything from Marlin, to GT's Wahoo, Kingfish, Samson Fish, Amberjack and Mackeral. Ive caught plenty of big Gt's over the years but have got right into it over the past year, with my best fish being around 35kg, all captured on video.

I believe every angler has lots to offer and that we never stop learning.

I look forward to chatting to you all on here, that is when I'm not out fishing!

Howzit everybody!

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I've been fishing for a few years and got interested in using surface lures, poppers, and stickbaits recently.  GTPopping has been a good place to read up on gear so far...

Hope I can contribute and continue to learn!   :D

Location: San Diego, Ca USA
Popping Experience: None  :'(

Quick Bio:

Love fishing, just don't have the time or money to visit the places many of guys live or go to. California fish is on the smaller scale compared to what you guys fish for. We get yellowtail (kingfish in NZ) and nice sized white seabass on occasion, but in general, 1-10lb fish is the norm here. We do get into some great tuna action when the water warms up enough.

This site is great!!! Until I get out and fish for some GTs of my own, I'll be doing a bunch of lurking and marveling at the fish you guys hook into.

Hi

I  am Rob Tapert. I am a native Michigander who fished the great  lakes for  years including Ice fishing.  Then moved to CA for many  years and fished for everything that  swims from Alaska to  Costa Rica. Moved to NZ where i  discovered fly fishing, snapper and kingies on stick baits!!!

Just  when i  thought that  there was nothing left to  fish for i  discover GTs

Its a wonderful life.
