BLACK JACK / NOMAD POPPERS

(1/3) > >>

DarrenC:
Just like some feedback from guys who've used Black Jack / Nomad Cuberas, Wahoos and Uluas and how they stack up against the more expensive Japanese creations. In terms of durability, ease of usage, balance and overall fish-catching ability - is there any reason to spend almost double for a branded japanese GT lure.

Thanks in advance!

David Sharples:
These are superb lures. I mainly use the Wahoos and GT Manias and each time they have been as good as and often better than the more expensive japanese lures I've used.

In terms of durability they are also excellent. Many casts slamming into rocks and being chewed by GTs, sharks and spaniards and they are still looking and fishing good.

My only issue would be that I'd like them in bigger sizes, 180-230g. Other than that top lures.

Andy Rowe:
Got to agree with David's comments wahoo's, ulua's etc. are all serious fish attractors, the holo sides are very unique and effective especially with the swim baits. They are easy to use and importantly excellent value for money, I think it has been stated previously in this forum that these are top of the pile in value stakes. Re comparing to expensive Jap lures, thats all personal economics at the end of the day.

I'm also keen to see if a heavier series will emerge in the future Pak Jon.  ;) ;) ;)

Cheers
Andy

Jay Burgess:
Great value popper if you're on a budget, work effectively and IMO just as durable as craftbait.

Colin P:
Agree with Dave (have to because I pinched one of his GT Mania on my first trip to Musandam and caught a couple of 30kg plus GT on it - he retaliated by pinching my successful 150g Wahoo on a subsequent trip - I did steal it back but lost it to a shark!). Still not sure about the need for a bigger version of the popper - only because I have no personal evidence of bigger poppers catching bigger fish. Having said that, if a bigger GT Mania is produced I will have to buy one or two!!
