Topwater Caranx Ignobilis: Giant Trevally (GT) > Reports & Expeditions
Billfish anyone?? SE Queensland is about to go nuts!
Aaron Concord:
Nathan,
It's primed to go off right now, though the season lasts over until February.
Thats for the main migration...there are numbers until March usually.
Santosh,
They are pretty little fish at that size...and very cranky!
On light spin gear they are an absolute hoot!
Weather for Monday is looking good ;D
Chris Young:
The weather does look good for Monday but I got to work :'(
I'm hoping to get a shot on the gold coast a bit later in the season on some of my proto pencil poppers ;)
alex frangoulis:
has there been any beaks caught off the gold coast yet?
If so how wide?
cheers alex
Aaron Concord:
Alex,
There have been blacks tagged in 65m of water East of the Seaway over the weekend.
I suspect that the usual haunts such as Sullies off the 'Pin, the bait grounds off the Seaway & the 24 fathom reefs will have them right now.
There are fish being tagged off Moreton and North Stradbroke Islands as well.
Cheers
Aaron.
alex frangoulis:
sounds like good news mate!
hopefully it will be a plague season. i'm pretty keen to nail some in my tinny, weather permiting of course.
i'll be staying on the coast in a mates boat moored somewhere near mirage for some of the christmas period hopefully it all comes to plan.
cheers Alex
