I'll be sure to post a report on what happens. Right now it's pouring with rain and barely above zero here in England - so the Seychelles will be a great trip whatever happens on the fishing front!!! ;)

Sorry Brandon but you do have a good chance of sub zero in January. :(

When and where are you coming? I'll post you a local forecast nearer the time - and if you're nearby, I'll buy you a proper beer to cheer you up! ;)

Hi Jon - yes - Dave, me and my wife Marg tend to hunt as a pack on these trips.

London will be warm in comaprison to  some of the cities I am going to first - I'll be in Toronto directly before London - that should be a good minus 20

Been to Toronto many times (wife is Canadian). Have experienced minus 28 there (minus 40 in Winnipeg where it was quite literally breathtaking). Wrap up warm Brandon!!! ;D

Now I'm off to catch a plane. :)

Don't forget the Triggers if you're going to take a fly rod Colin!!!!!!!
Those critters have seriously gotten under my skin since I went to CI this year and the Seychelles are the one other place in the world where they are a serious target on the flats..... make the most of it!

Hope you have a great trip!

Gordo

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, We all love jig and popper fishing so we are very excited to be able to support the forum with our sponsorship.

Greg

Triggers = Triggerfish, a punk version of the leatherjackets that take chunks out of jigs and assist rigs around here in winter. Triggers bite hooks in half and pull like a small tractor on the flats. I think if Gordo gets back to CI this year, he'll be spending more time chasing them than the bones

A quick question just having a look through the site - what's the difference between the FCL Labo Ebi Pops and the Ebi Pop SC50F/65F?  The SC series are shorter but are they also slighter in the body?  The weights seem relatively lighter.  If so what's the durability like?

Already spoken to Travis, but for anyone else that is interested, the SC series are smaller and lighter in weight. The regular Ebi's (200, 140, 120)are the big GT poppers. The SC series have a slightly modified head shape, top out at 65g and are more aimed at Tuna, kingfish, smaller trevallies and the like.

Cheers
