Title: Minn Kota differences?
Post by: Cam Higgins on June 30, 2014, 08:57:42 PM
Hi all, I was hoping to get an answer:
Is there any difference between US and Australian Minn Kota motors?
My circumstances are that my Terrova 55lb control board had gone ( Lost steering ) and I have found them ( replacement board ) in the US for much cheaper than I can buy them here. The part numbers are different but it's only a sticker, they look exactly the same and I can't think why they would be different.
Does any one have experience to say definitively whether the US control board will work in my Australian motor?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Cameron.

Hi Cameron,

When I up-graded my Minn Kota Riptide ST to an I-Pilot system, I used a unit purchased from the US.

The new I-pilot involved replacing the control board which simply plugged into the existing electronics for the motor.

I had no problems with the US control board working with my AU purchased motor so I can't see why yours would be any different.

I hope this helps.
