Kaiser El Toro 180 (V2)...about to be launched soon :D Stay tuned!
This is a true PE12 stick. The blank easily cleared >25kg at 45 degrees in dead lifts
I had a go trying to clear 15kg weights (with reel & line attached) with the Kaiser El Toro 180 (V2), Carpenter UHL, SMITH KD and OR Widowmaker recently. The results (ease of lift) were quite surprising! Rod bend pics coming soon :D

Be interested to see the specs and close up photos - any custom options?

Some pics of the El Toro 180 V2 lifting 17.5kg, compared to OR Widow Maker and Carpenter 78 UHL..."ease of lift" wise, El Toro 180 V2 and Widow Maker came up tops....surprisingly it was noticeably harder work with the UHL...most effort was needed with KD...we had 2 guys have a go and they felt the same way

A rather fast action rod suitable for the heaviest chuggers and very high drag settings.
All young, strong blokes should get it ;)

I might add that a KD becomes saturated at this weight. It simply does do much lifting anymore and merely folds over.
Tough when you want to bring a big GT coming up sideways....
-
As an aside, are Ocean Revolution Widowmakers still available? I though Carpenter closed them down for copyright infringement?
The El Toro 180 looks like a brutal rod in these pics. I must say it feels a lot friendlier in the hand and casts nicely.

Hi Mark,
WM is no longer available, the rod used above is a store pc. Spot on about the issues with Carpenter.

Kasey,
Trolling the forums at 2am? Heh heh...must have been a late night at the pubs yesterday...not good for Eric as he has to open shop in the morning :P
Yep, it was hardest with the KD....tough to bring up GTs that come in sideways or when the Captain doesn't create an angle for lift... >:( I did think it would be easy peasy with the UHL but it strangely wasn't.
Good to meet you again :D
