Title: Rooster Fish in Rarotonga?
Post by: Aaron Levien on September 03, 2013, 04:32:19 PM
Hey guys

Just a quick question... Are these found in Rarotonga and Aitutaki? We are off there shortly and the two fish on the top of my list are:

1 Nice GT
1 Nice Rooster

I am not asking for much. Anything past this is a bonus for my partner and I.

Cheers

Aaron

The closest thing in the Region is a poulet in Vanuatu. Poulet being chicken in French!!!  ;D
It's actually a ruby snapper - no idea why they call it a poulet

Cheers mate. Hopefully we can add a nice report on here when we get back. Going to do some rock popping and chase the T's with Mike. Super excited to get out with him.

I can't think of anywhere to go rock popping on Aitutaki. You can walk out to the reef edge and cast out from there but good luck landing anything!!

Cheers mate, we are spending some time in Rarotonga as well as Aitutaki. We will try multiple destinations are the place. We are going super loaded with Poppers and Braid. So here is hoping some magic can be produced. If not the pressure will be on for Mike.

You will be OK with Mike A great Guy and he will put up on the Fish. Hope you have got good sealegs as it get a bit choppy as he will get you as near the reef as he can so you will need a long cast to drop you popper or stickbait onto the reef.
So hi to Mike from Doug and Pete from the uk we had a great time with him in Sept last year.
