Title: CV7940 vs Fstick GT 80 reversal nano

For poppers up to D cup and swimbaits up to 160g.
Which rod would be your pick and why?
Also 18k or 16k reel?

I'd say the RF but that's only because you should be able to actually get one. I haven't seen a CV for sale for a while.

But in all seriousness, it's going to be a hard call to make. The Ripple nanos don't seem to have had much exposure yet. I do like the idea of an 8' reversal but it's at the expense of a bit of lure weight.

What abt the reel size?

The reels are all about a compromise really.

The 18k is definitely a better reel but it's a lot heavier. 10k/14k with 16k spool (I'm assuming this is what you mean when you say 16k reel) is nice and light but will be at a higher risk of failure than the 18k which is basically built for GT popping. Buying an aftermarket spool will make the smaller reel more expensive also.

Don't let that comment about the 10k/14k dishearten you from going that route though because they're still tough but the gearing is obviously smaller therefore not as strong as the 18k.
